I am a Graphic Artist and Photographer, specializing in photo editing and collateral branding. I have been in the industry for over 10 years, and started my own freelance business, JoeArtBen Designs, in 2009.
I like clean and simple designs that make a great impact, although I have created my fair share of gritty and grungy work. It has it's place, and can fit certain demographics just fine, but I will create the perfect composition to fit your style or business.
I studied Visual Communications at Northern Illinois University, and then Graphic Design at The Illinois Institute of Art. But my passion for art started at a very early age, learning to paint, draw, sculpt, and create with my grandmother, Eileen. She was a talented artist, and she instilled in me the value of making something that I can be proud of. As a teenager, I developed my photography skills, learning dark room processing, as well as the magic of Photoshop. But it wasn't until I was at the Art Institute that I really refined my digital photo editing techniques, and cultivated my knowledge for branding, typography, and other aspects of design.
Over the years I have worked for a variety of companies and individuals, some of which I have examples on this very site. Just click on the portfolio link to see my work. I also have a collection of my photography displayed, ranging from portraits, to industrial, to landscape.
